Course Cancellation/Rescheduling Policies

Life happens! We understand sometimes things happen beyond our control and when they extenuating circumstances arise, we will try our best to work with you. 

Please review the Pacific Ocean Sports policies and contact us with any questions or concerns.

Course Bookings: General Policies

All course reservations must be paid in full at the time of registration. Course reservations made without full payment are not considered guaranteed or confirmed and therefore risk forfeiture and/or cancelation without notice. Some bookings have optional equipment reservations that may be paid at the start of said booking.

Reserving a spot in certification courses is not a guarantee of certification as individuals must meet the pre-requisites and requirements detailed by that course’s specific training agency. Students that fail to meet these requirements will not be issued certification. Additionally, Pacific Ocean Sports instructors reserve the right to deny certification to students deemed a danger to themselves or others.

If additional training is required for classes, the student is responsible for scheduling and payment of the additional training which may include: pool fees, equipment rental, and any other applicable training cost required for class completion.

Make Up Sessions: If you miss any portion of the class, you are subject to the following make-up fees: 

⁃ Academic instruction: re-scheduling fee - $50 for any missed portion 

⁃ Pool instruction: re-scheduling fee - $100 per missed day 

⁃ Open Water Dives: re-scheduling fee - $150 per day. Student will need to pay standard rental rates for the re-scheduled Open Water Training weekends 

Medical Waiver: If a signed physician medical waiver is required for class attendance and the student fails to attain one before the class start date, Pacific Ocean Sports will do their best to help you reschedule attendance for the next available class date; however, rescheduling classes is subject to re-booking fees. If your physician deems you not fit to dive, you must notify Pacific Ocean Sports within 14 days prior to the start of class or you will be subject to the standard course cancellation policy.

Course Cancelation Policy

SCUBA Classes:

⁃ Class cancellation requests made more than 14 days prior to the start of class will receive a full refund minus the student training materials. (PADI E-learning can be used within one year of when you sign up)

⁃ Class cancellation requests made less than 14 days prior to the start of class forfeit your full class booking costs

Private or Professional Level Courses:

⁃ Class cancellation requests made more than 30 days before the start date of the class will be refunded the class booking minus the student training materials

⁃ Class cancellation requests less than 30 days before the start date of the class forfeit the class booking in full

Weather: All reservations are subject to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances. Pacific Ocean Sports can cancel for unforeseen circumstances at any time.

If a class is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Pacific Ocean Sports will make the best effort to reschedule within a timely manner.

Course Rescheduling Policy 

SCUBA Classes:

⁃ Requests to reschedule a course within 14 days from the start of a course (but more than 7) will be subject to a $100 rebooking fee

⁃ Requests to reschedule a course within 7 days from the start of a course (but more than 72 hours) will be subject to a $200 rebooking fee

⁃ Customers are not able to reschedule a course with less than 72 hours from the start of a course

Private or Professional Courses:

⁃ Customers can request class rescheduling prior to 72 hours before the start date of the course without penalty

⁃ Customers cannot request class rescheduling with less than 72 hours before the start date of the course - doing so will result in a $150.00 re-scheduling fee

Rescheduling & Cancellation:

Pacific Ocean Sports will make the best effort to find a replacement for your cancelled or rescheduled reservation, less the re-booking and cancellation fees.

Classes: If you re-book your class and Pacific Ocean Sports is able to find a replacement then we will transfer your booking minus the re-booking fees. If you cancel your class and Pacific Ocean Sports is able to find a replacement then we will refund your booking minus the cancellation fees.
